HOMEOWNERS OF AMERICA SYSTEMS ANALYSIS PROJECT

THE PROJECT

This was a group project that consisted of developing a system by going through each phase of the waterfall lifecycle.  The course focused mainly on the requirements and design phases, therefore there are two major pieces of documentation related to this project.  We had to presentation the development of the project at each phase to our class.  Our group's project was to create a system for Homeowners of America (HOA), an organization dedicated to handling the financial and administrative affairs of various homeowners associations all over the country.  Our group identified the requirements for their system based on an initial prompt given to us.  We had to design each of the interfaces and come up with an implementation plan for the system.

The system we were developing had to allow them to become more productive and enable them to grow by adding more associations.  The system had to keep track of associations and the homeowners within those associations.  Since HOA handles the financial affairs, their system needed interfaces for billing, accepting payments, and dealing with delinquent homeowners.  This system also needed to address complaints and maintenance requests.  Lastly, there needed to be an interface for the association to put in a request for a newsletter to be made by HOA.

MY ROLE

I acted as the project manager in my group which meant I was in charge of creating the documentation and ensuring that the project stay on task and all the identified requirements were met.  I unified each members' contribution in order to create consistency throughout the project.  This meant a lot of editing and re-creating of documents.

In the requirements report, I created the use case diagram and wrote come of the use case specifications.  I also created the context diagram and all of the data flow diagrams within the document.  For the design report, I created all of the interface designs as well as all of the report layouts.  I also created all of the structure charts.
